Moldova is one of the oldest wine regions in the world, with traditions stretching back millennia. Thanks to its favorable climate, diverse soils, and unique geographical location, the country produces wines with a well-defined character and identity.

Among the most iconic indigenous varieties are Fetească Regală, Fetească Neagră, and Rară Neagră, which shape the identity of modern Moldovan wine. They are complemented by international varieties, resulting in balanced and memorable wines.

This master class will present the philosophy of the VINUM Estate Winery and the evolution of Moldovan wines in a modern context. Participants will explore the unique characteristics of local grape varieties, the stylistic profile of the wines, and the synergy between nature, tradition, and contemporary winemaking, through a selection of wines reflecting the Moldovan terroir and the winery’s signature blends.

Masterclass: The White Treasures of the Apennines: Sun, Salt and Forgotten Vineyards

600x660-irina-sofranova
Irina Sofranova
wine expert

This master class is by invitation only. Places are limited. Please register your interest at: editorial@divino.bg

This masterclass will introduce lesser-known Italian white grape varieties and regions to a wider audience, with a focus on distinctive terroirs. While the world is well familiar with Pinot Grigio and Prosecco, true connoisseurs know that the heart of Italian white wine lies in its lesser-known indigenous varieties.
This will be an exciting journey along the Adriatic coast and through the wild landscapes of Sardinia, discovering wines with remarkable character and history. We all love the classics, but the real adventure begins where the familiar labels end.
We invite you to a tasting dedicated to Italy’s “hidden gems” – varieties that rarely take the spotlight, yet possess a character that can rival even the most famous names.
Together, we will move beyond clichés and focus on rare and authentic varieties that preserve the spirit of the Mediterranean and Italian traditions. We will discover minerality and structure as we taste wines that capture the freshness of the mountains and the salinity of the sea – varieties that were once on the brink of extinction but are now a source of pride for their regions.
We will enter an aromatic labyrinth – from delicate white flowers and citrus to complex notes of almond, herbs, and dried apricot. We will experience terroir in a glass and understand how the sun of Sardinia and the unique soils of Central Italy shape wines with remarkable aging potential and gastronomic versatility.
Which wines will be tasted:
• La Roncaia Eclisse Bianco Colli Orientali DOC, Friuli
• Umani Ronchi Vigor Passerina IGT, Marke
• Cantine Forno Bel Monte Iprinia Falanghina DOC, Campania
• Collefrisio Pecorino Terre di Chieti IGT, Abruzzo
• Tenimenti Civa Riboll Gialla Colli Оrientali DOC, Friuli
• Corte Ferro Inzolia Terre Sicilia IGP, Sicilia
• Argiolas Costamolino Vermentino di Sardegna DOC, Sardinia

We are pleased to welcome you to our exclusive masterclass. The selected wines for the tasting are provided by Italian Trade Agency (ITA).

Masterclass: Rose that can age

Bertrand Léon
Chief Oenologist of Château d’Esclans

This masterclass will introduce Château d’Esclans – a winery that redefines the rosé category and elevates it to the level of the world’s great wines. The history, terroir, and philosophy behind the creation of the wines will be presented through the concept of the “anatomy” of a great rosé – understanding every element that builds its structure and aging potential. Located in the heart of Provence, the estate rests on millennia of wine tradition, but the true transformation began in 2006, when Sacha Lichine set the ambitious goal of creating a rosé with the longevity and complexity of a great white Burgundy wine.
The foundation of this style lies in a deep understanding of the relationship between soil, climate, and human intervention. The limestone and clay soils in the La Motte area provide both structure and freshness, while the Mediterranean climate creates a balance between ripeness and acidity – a key factor for aging potential.
The philosophy behind the “birthplace” of great rosés will be presented by Bertrand Léon himself, accompanied by a tasting of:
• Château d'esclans 2024
• Château d'esclans 2022 Jeroboams
• Les Clans 2022
• Les Clans 2023
• Les Clans 2024
• Garrus 2022
• Garrus 2019

The master class will be conducted in English with no translation provided.

Masterclass: Chablis Through the Eyes of Domaine Louis Moreau

alize-drouet-600x660
Alizé Drouet
Export Manager of Domaine Louis Moreau

This masterclass will present Domaine Louis Moreau, a family estate from the heart of Chablis, whose roots date back to 1814. The history of the winery, the characteristics of the region and the winemaking approach will be presented personally by Alizé Drouet, Export Manager of Domaine Louis Moreau. Decantus Wines is the importer of Domaine Louis Moreau wines in Bulgaria.
Through generations, the Moreau family has worked with a clear understanding of the relationship between vineyard, climate, and soil. Today, Louis Moreau, the sixth-generation heir of the estate, continues this philosophy, applying an approach based on attention to detail in the vineyards and minimal intervention during vinification. The focus remains the expression of terroir through the Chardonnay grape variety, characteristic of the Chablis appellation. Practices at the estate are aimed at sustainable viticulture and preserving the natural balance of the grapes. The wines reflect the specific parcels from which they originate, without striving for stylistic extremes.

Wines to be tasted:
Chablis Premier Cru Vaillons, Louis Moreau, 2023
Chablis Grand Cru Vaudésir, Louis Moreau, 2021
Chablis Grand Cru Valmur, Louis Moreau, 2021

Masterclass: Where the Alps Meet the Sun: The Terroirs of Alto Adige

Ines Giovanet
Co-owner of the Castelfeder winery

Masterclass
Good viticulture takes time. This masterclass will introduce participants to the inspiring story of a family of winemakers who manage 70 hectares of vineyards located in some of the most suitable terroirs of the Alto Adige region – a place where the Alps meet the sun, creating exceptional conditions for the wines of the Castelfeder winery. Approximately 70% of the vineyards are planted with white varieties – Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Bianco, Sauvignon Blanc, and Gewürztraminer. The remaining 30% are red varieties such as Lagrein, Merlot, and Cabernet, with a clear focus on Pinot Noir.
Through a selection of Castelfeder’s authentic wines, participants will explore the region’s diverse terroirs, microclimates, and unique characteristics. They will have the opportunity to see how altitude, exposure, and soils shape the style and character of the wines. The focus will be both on local varieties and international classics such as Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, interpreted through the unique identity of Alto Adige.

Masterclass: Poli Grappa R-Evolution

jacopo-poli-speaker
Jacopo Poli
Оwner of Poli Distillery

This masterclass will present the history and philosophy of Poli Distillery – one of the most iconic names in the world of grappa. Participants will be transported to Schiavon, near Bassano del Grappa, where in 1898 Jacopo Poli’s ancestor founded the family tradition. During the masterclass, the unique technology used by Poli Distillery in crafting its spirits will be explored – fully copper alembic stills with a discontinuous proccess, working with fresh grape pomace to ensure the purity and expressiveness of the distillate.
The focus will also be on the concept of “R-Evolution” – the transformation of grappa from a traditional drink into a refined digestif with international recognition. It will demonstrate how aging shapes a smoother and more complex profile, approaching the style of cognac and whisky.
